Our 3rd cruise on the Summit 15th overall with Celebrity. We are Elite status which gives us a few nice perks ie: laundry, internet, free happy hour to name a few. This was our 36 cruise and we have sailed on several other lines also but Celebrity is our favorite.
This ship is 18(?) years old but you would never know it. Although it lacks a few of the amenities of the newer ships it never fails to please. The staff goes above and beyond, very decent food and top notch live entertainment. With only 2000 passengers there is no waiting in lines and making reservations for everything you do like the mega liners. Who wants that!
2 days before sailing we booked the Summit and ended up with a level 3 window cabin.Plenty of storage, an abnormally large shower and an excellent cabin steward was all we needed for 7 days.Generally we get balcony cabins but so little time is spent in the cabin that this room had all anyone would need. And a great location midship with no rocking or noise near the grand foyer.
This cabin was not overwhelming but it is priced right and located low and midship which made for a great location. The Grand foyer, stairs and elevators were a few steps away and there was not a lot of foot traffic down our hallway. Surprisingly is had a larger than usual shower stall which is a treat.Plenty of storage and the cabin steward was excellent .
Parking in Cape Liberty was easy. 7 days for $140 and only 100 steps to the ship
Small shopping mall, food and water sport rentalsThere is a small beach and food area for $5 a day within walking distance from the ship but small means it gets crowded if you are there by 11am.A 20 minute ferry to Hamilton(their capital city) for $9 round trip is a must. A bus costs the same but takes almost an hour.
