We chose this British Isles cruise because it covered most of the cities we wanted to visit in the British Isles and we also wanted to visit the Canadian beaches in Normandy. The excursions we booked were great for the most part and the tour guides were awesome. The excursion to the Giants Causeway was a highlight and our guide was so informative of the history of Ireland. We recommend seeing this amazing sight. We also took an excursion to Edinburgh which included seeing the Edinburgh castle. We were only given 90 or so minutes to wander around the museums there and so did not see the Scottish Crown Jewels or state apartments as there were long lines to get in and time did not allow for that. The tour of the Britannia was really interesting as well...recommend it.
This was our first Princess cruise and have done Celebrity cruises in the past. The food on Princess did not even come close to the food on Celebrity. We were very disappointed as we rated it as only average and the buffet food was more like camp food. For the amount of money these cruises cost I would expect wonderful , great tasting cuisine all the time, which is what we found Celebrity delivered on.
The biggest highlight was seeing the Canadian beaches at Normandy. It was quite emotiional. We also met some lovely people along the way. Except for the food this was a good cruise but I would definitely take a smaller ship...too many people on board.
Our mini-suite was great and our steward was fantastic.
