We chose this cruise for the itinerary in Italy and Greek Isles. I reviewed many sites did lots of planning pre cruise. We did spend 4 days in beautiful Rome prior to the cruise and i would highly recommend this. We were first time cruisers but have done a significant amount of travelling. First the ship. Lots of comments about the age of the Spirit. We were very pleasantly surprised and were not disappointed in anything. Embarktion went very smoothly and each day disembarktion was easy and well organized. Our balcony cabin was more than expected. Very clean and well attended daily by our room steward. Lots of room for the two of us and appropriate storage. We did take an over the door hanging organizer that i would highly recommend to keep things tidy and handy. We also took extra hangers and closepins to do a little hand washing over the 10 days. I did use the gym a number of days while onboard and equipment was always available and in great shape. Fitness area was kepy very clean as well. We were very impressed with the options for food and drink throughout the ship and were very happy with all of our meals. We had bfast at Raffles each day and lots of selection of fresh fruits and hot options ie made to order omelettes. We didnt have any issues with finding seating outside at the back of the ship each day. The buffet always had great selection and good food. We ate at Cagneys twice and steak was cooked perfectly as well as the best Seabass i have had! We also ate at Teppanyaki and food and 'show' were wonderful. We were very impressed with the service throughout the cruise. All staff we encountered were lovely and demonstrated humour and great conversation. Hard to find such terrific customer service consistently in resort settings and we were very satisfied. We attended the magic show, karaoke and the piano bar a number of times and all were entertaining and enjoyable. Wonderful itinerary with only one sea day however the stop in Crete was so early and short that we did not venture off the ship that day. Santorini had always been on my list to see and there were 4 other ships in port that lead to a very busy day on the island. The lift had 2+ hour wait time to get up to town level. We took the water taxi to Oia but the organization of the buses at the other end was truly atrocious. We were told bus return to Thira was every 20 min when in fact it was only hourly. Mass confusion getting on the buses both on arrival in Oia and for return to Thira. We walked down the donkey trail to return to ship. We are both very physically active and it is a challenging walk due to the slope of the steps. There were a number of people struggling by the time they got to the bottom. Overall we loved seeing this part of Santorini but it would be a much better spot to fly into and stay a few days then as a cruise stop in my opinion. All other ports were lovely and a great way to see so many spots in 10 days. We did not do any NCL excursions. In Athens we took the city train and did lots of walking to see the Acropolis. Great way to see more of the city. In Mykonos we took the water taxi to Old Town and just wandered around for a few hours. In Rhodes we did a Segway tour for 2 hours that was great fun and we would recommend for some history and a great way to see more in a short time. We did a Rolling Geeks golf cart gps tour in Malta and enjoyed seeing the 3 cities this way. One of our favorite days was our final full day when we had booked a full day tour to see Sorrento, Positano and Pompeii. Beautiful part of the world i didnt want to miss when we so close. We travelled on our own as a couple celebrating an anniversary and we thoroughtly enjoyed every aspect of our holiday. Thank you Norwegian for a terrific intro to cruising!!

All round terrific cruise!!

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony
Cabin BB 9106
Very clean. Consistently had hot water for showers. Enough room but recommend an over the door organizer to keep things handy and organized. Bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed using the balcony throughout our stay.
