We choose this cruise because of the itinerary, price and our past experience on the Eclipse. We booked Aqua Class because of our past experience on the Equinox. The Aqua Class Balcony rooms are small but access to the Blu Restaurant makes up for that. ...... or so we thought.. The Blu experience was just ok from a food and service perspective.
Our favourite lounge was the Ensemble. Andre was a great waiter, lots of character.
We only liked one of the entertainment acts. Dany Smart had a solid repertoire of songs.
Compact balcony room. Maybe slightly smaller than a 6th or 7th floor regular balcony. But enough room for two. Main advantage of Aqua Class is access to the Blu restaurant.. However I found the Blu experience to be underwhelming this time. The menu options were OK but the food taste only wowed us a couple of times. Your server experience depended upon where you sat.
Took the Mersey Line into Chester. Loved Chester. Really quaint place. Ate at the Tap Ale House on Lower Bridge Street.. It was awesome. They have their own lines of beer. Food comes from their farm.
Just toured the town. Got great pictures. Shops were closed....Sunday. It is a tender port. Took 3 hours to get off the ship. Seas were somewhat rough. had a get out of the rain lunch at the Terrace Restaurant. The Liberation beer was awesome. Could see the Tender line from the terrace. ....... stayed until the tender line thinned out.
It was Sunday.......except for an awesome market, all the shops were closed.
Took the train into Paris. Don't bother booking 1st class seats. Getting on the train in Le Havre was easy. Coming back was bit of a zoo. Paris was awesome. We bought a metro day pass and traveled the Metro to most of our sights. Only negative is the 5 hour overall travel time. Taxis from the train station were slow in coming.
