I was looking for a cruise to take the grandchildren on that was available the first week on June 2018. I needed two cabins. I found the Celebrity Summit and the airfare from California for six was reasonable. We left the night before and arrived the day of the cruise at the Newark Airport. We used Lyft from the Marriott Hotel which has a free shuttle on the Airport property to the cruise terminal. Lyft and Uber only authorize one vehicle at time to be use to an account. I sent two passengers with the entire luggage to the port. When the vehicle was released I ordered the second Lyft to the port. Embarkation was very fast at the port. The two cabins were on the same floor one with two beds and the other with four beds both cabins both were configured same with overhead beds. The bathrooms were small with three small shelves and small countertops. The Summit is an older ship some of the carpeting flooring was uneven.

There was show every night in the Celebrity Theater. The main dining room service and meals were very good. The service by crew was very good.

The ship docked in Bermuda. There was plenty of transportation available in the port cabs, local buses, ferry service and van service. There are shops and malls within walking distance.

Cabin Review

Cabin Ocean View

My cabin was configured with two upper and two lower beds. There were two of us the cabin myself and my grandson. The Wi Fi reception was good in the cabin. The closet space was good. The dresser drawers’ space was limited. The bathroom was small with three very small shelves on one side. There were a few International TV stations most of the times.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Use Lyft from Newark Airport to the port about a 25 minute ride. There were several porters available to collect the luggage. The embarkation was fast and the key cards were issued in a couple of minutes.

King's Wharf

The port is large and can handle two very large cruise ships at the docks. Transportation is within walking distance. There are local government buses no luggage is allowed aboard, cabs, ferries and van service. There are shops, restaurants and malls all within walking distance. The city of Hamilton and St. George can be reach by ferry or bus for about $4.00 USD or cab for about $30.00 USD. Discount book of ferry tickets are only available in Hamilton. Smaller cruise ships dock in Hamilton and St. George.
