Transatlantic cruises are our favorite! We choose this cruise because date worked. Turns out it was one of our best cruises (30+ cruises).
We flew to San Juan late on Saturday & stayed at airport hotel (very convenient), took taxi ($19 plus tip) and arrived at port around 11am. The port was chaos and porters rude. Demanded tip before they would take bag (this was only negative of our cruise). Once in terminal check in was very smooth. Was on ship quickly and went up to Solarium to relax.
Jewel of the Seas was showing her age slightly but it was immaculately clean and staff and crew extremely friendly, personable and informative.
Nicely appointed cabin. Lots of storage. Balcony small. Very quiet location and close to forward elevators. Mattress very firm.
What a pretty port. Short walk from ship to Main Street of town. Free shuttle to end of pier. Tourist info right outside port with very helpful agents.
It was not touristy...rather felt we were walking with the locals. Look forward to visiting again
Took free shuttle to end of pier. Could have walked around town but it was Sunday and everything was closed. Nice walkway right outside port.
Took free shuttle to end of pier. Nice walkway but Was Sunday everything downtown closed
Loved the city..beautiful. But hated our excursion. Took ship excursion Alicante Sightseeing. Tour was awful. Nothing that was in description happened. A total waste of time, money and a nice port. Next time we will take taxi to nearby beach. You cannot walk from ship to city
Went to Lladro factory. What a wonderful city. What a fabulous excursion.
