I had always wanted to cruise to Alaska. The Coral Princess delivered the goods. Food was great. Staff were great. I enjoyed all the other cruisers that I met. There were excellent excursions to take. The on-board entertainment and events were varied so there was something to appeal to everyone.

I'd say the days of dressing for dinner on formal nights is disappearing. Some people did wear formal gowns and tuxes. But for the most part, women wore black slacks with dressy tops or tunics or jackets. Men wore slacks and ties and maybe a jacket. Some wore suits. Some wore tuxes. You can rent tuxes or formal gowns on the ship if you are so inclined.

Some of the lecturers were rather unique and very interesting. For example, Libby Riddles (who was the first woman to win the iditarod) spoke about that accomplishment and what led her to be interested in mushing.

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

Cabin was comfortable. Ours had 2 twin beds which were really comfortable and had really nice sheet sand comforters.

Bathroom was adequate. The 2 things I did not like about the bathroom were the high sides of the tub that made it hard to step int and out of, and there is no electrical outlet in the bathroom except one that id just for shavers. So don't plan to blow dry your hair in the bathroom. You will have to use the outlets in the mini suite itself, but there is a mirror and the hairdryer is next to the mirror at a little desk with a chair,

The room had a few drawers (enough for 2 people) ,a refrigerator, 2 televisions (not sure why), a sleeper sofa, a small chair.

The balcony is really nice and we used it except when it wad raining. Your view of the glaciers from the balcony were outstanding.

There is a large closet area for hanging clothes which was very helpful.

Overall the mini suite was totally fine and we enjoyed it
