this is our 9th cruise with carnival. first on Sunshine. The initial impression was this ship is not well taken care of. Rust, chipped paint, wood rails dingy with finish chipping off. Second thing we noticed. the rooms were by far smaller than any cruise we have taken on Carnival. We thought maybe it was just our room (aft deck 6th floor) but we visited friends rooms and they were just as small.Room service was below average. A couple of things really disappointed us. our service lady threw empty beer bottles that we collected for our son away that were on our counter. we docked in Grand Turks on Good Friday. No one on the ship thought to mention that liquor and tobacco are not sold on Good Friday, if we had known this we would have purchased our Rum before the last stop of the cruise. I also found out that you don't get good deals on purchasing watches on board the ship. you can find them cheaper on line. We did have a good time on the cruise but as far as rating our cruises from 1 thru 9 for overall experience the Sunshine cruise would be the #9.
Aruba was very busy place. a lot of traffic.
we stayed on beach about 100 ft from the ship right in front of margaritaville. FYI Green umbrellas are free to use. Don't let the locals charge you to use them. I saw it happen a couple of times. Whole beach area is nice and snorkeling was fun. Saw several different types of fish.
