This cruise replaced a planned departure from San Juan Puerto Rico in January. But the 2017 hurricane damaged Puerto Rico so we decided to try another departure point, Miami. Boarding was pretty painless and quick. The ship itself was the largest I've been on but was easy to navigate after an initial walk around. Food in Windjammer was consistently good. The main dining room was our choice for 7 or 8 of the 9 nights. Our waiter disappeared one day, so we didn't give him a tip at the end. Food was B plus. Entertainment that we attended was very good. I took advantage of the fitness center treadmills for about 4-5 days early in the morning. The promenade had a 24 hour snack spot that was very convenient to our 6th floor balcony room. The room itself was very spacious and towards the front of the ship. Maybe it was the frontward location, but on some nights the sounds of the waves kept me up. We took advantage of the solarium several mornings for quiet time. Tried a dance class one day for entertainment. Saw two movies, one outside in the pool area. Our stateroom person, Olga, did a good job of meeting our needs. It was just my wife and I, both in our early 60s. The excursions were good. We did learn that if you do the beach excursions note that most of the chairs reserved do not have a cover from the sun, so plan accordingly. The private island Labadee in Haiti was nice. If we knew more about it we would have planned to get a private cabana to enjoy. Lesson learned. The Land and Sea excursion in Aruba was enjoyable. Just very hot there. The stores near the port area were disappointing unless you are into diamonds and jewelry. The casino there was a good diversion. Curacao has many more stores to choose from if you are into shopping. A very enjoyable trip and I would do it again. As a matter of fact we signed up for a 7 day cruise while on the ship.
