This was our first Carnival cruise and we were a bit hesitant, thinking this was the Walmart experience.
Embarkation A
Embarkations was super fast. We received a text alert that one gangway was not operation and expected significant delays, but only 10 minutes from curb to ship. The ship cards were immediately available at your stateroom.

Off the ship and jump in the water. Margarittaville free and inviting.

A good place to walk on your own.
St. Maarten
Easy walk to town. You can take a bus on Back Street for $2 and go almost anywhere.
