A few years back I sailed on Carnival from Charleston and was very disappointed by the overall lack of quality on board, especially in dinning options. But three friends and I needed a break after the holidays so we booked 5days on Elation. I was so surprised by the changes Carnival has made. The ship was newly out of dry dock last October and in perfect condition. The cabin was fresh and clean and comfy. The food choices were all excellent from self serve to seated dinning room. Loved the Blue Iguana Grill, and the deli sandwiches. And the staff, all kind friendly and hardworking. Now, this is a more boisterous clientele, and Carnival does a good job attracting a younger group, but there were plenty of places to find quiet if that is your choice. My only small complaint was the professional entertainment was not as good as I’ve seen on other cruises, but I don’t cruise for that. And if you choose late dinning you miss out on most of it as 9:00pm was the spot that had the most offering. Also in cabin tv had little to offer as most movie were for kids. Other than that it was terrific for the price we paid and I’d do it again.
