I've sailed with Carnival once before 6 years ago on the Dream. And it was a dream, a very good one. I almost cried when I had to leave. Everything was wonderful!. Unfortunately, my experience on the Sunshine was the opposite. The only redeeming thing was the cruise director. He did his best. The food was less than average and every meal, regardless of where served, was cold.They spent to much time and resources working at elegance. I was offered fresh ground pepper for my cold, powered eggs! Really? The food at the Italian restaurant tasted like spaghettios and was cold. The other restaurants tried to pass off food I recognized from the buffet as freshly prepared, and again cold every time. I felt sorry for the wait staff. They did try. My sister, an engineer had to warn them about I seriously bowing step on a stairway on the deck. They did close it and fixed it with some sloppy patchwork. I could go on and on, but the most horrendous thing about this cruise was discovered a few days before we disembarked. I noticed itchy bumps on the legs, arms and chest. I didn't say any thing about it until after we were home a day or two my niece, who shared the cabin, asked me if I had any bite marks. She and her two kids all had itchy bumps. Shes a nurse and knew immediately that they were bed bugs. We had bed bugs in our cabin that hitched a ride in our suitcases. Unfortunately for her, she laid her suitcase on her bed immediately after getting home and a few days later found several bedbugs under the pillow top of her mattress. This is outrageous!!!!! So we all are now working to get rid of these bugs.
