My husband and I have been on a cruise the last 4 years we have been together. We've been on Norwegian and Holland America. We have always had a great time but we both have been on a Royal Caribbean years prior and agreed RC was better. So we decided for the first time together we would splurge for the more expensive RC cruise for my birthday. The ship itself is incredible so if thats all you care about then by all means, book it. It has a lot to "look" at. But thats just it, they have a few levels that are really cool looking but everything costs extra. A boardwalk with ice cream shop, diner, game room - ALL costs extra. They have the main promenade area that is again, cool to look at but why do we need michael kors store on our vacation? There were also way too many people. It was always crowded wherever we went and it was the opposite of relaxing.

I think they put too much effort into trivial things and not enough attention into food and customer service. Everything is pretty much included on other cruise lines. On this ship we were shocked at how they tried to nickel and dime us. Room service used to be free. Now it costs $8 each time you order, not matter what you order. Steam room and sauna was always a free amenity. Now it costs money to use it. Each game in the game room costs money to use.

Here are a few more things I noted from my experience:

Junior Suite with Balcony

Cabin JS

Said it above.

Port Reviews

Labadee

Very artificial looking. Nice beaches but it feels like you're at some kind of disney resort, not an island in haiti.

Falmouth

Grimey. There's no options for people who just want to explore the city and not pay for an excursion. I have a feeling they do that on purpose so you pay for excursions. My husband and I like to explore the local areas but as we walked around we felt more and more uncomfortable.
