Recommended by friends and a travel agent. We were interested in exploring the smaller towns, villages in Germany. We added additional days to the Paris land tour. The tour guides were so knowledgeable and interesting. We learned both the culture and history of each stop. We loved the ship, very well kept, and comfortable rooms and communal areas. The staff aboard were cheerful, helpful and interesting. Food was well prepared and presented with numerous options each meal. Site seeing from the ship was delightful, such a beautiful country. Castles, ruins, vineyards, campgrounds, greenbelts.

The onboard entertainment, by the staff musician and special presentations were well done and quite enjoyable. The atmosphere and small number of shipmates, lent itself to meeting many new friends and sharing our adventures.

We will definitely consider future cruises with Avalon. They offer a number of unique locations. The value was worth the wonderful experience. Read more
