Cabin: Interior Stateroom with Virtual Balcony

We chose this cruise for the itinerary & pricing. We stopped in Amsterdam in advance & stayed overnight in Southampton.Embarkation went smoothly. We boarded the ship & went straight to The Windjammer. We had access to our cabins at 1:00 pm. The ship was amazing, the size & the layout. We were new to the inside promenade with shops and entertainment areas. 4 of us were in two virtual balcony cabins on the 9th deck. The 5th was in an inside cabin on deck 8.The cabins were a decent size and it was fun having the virtual balcony.Great service from our room attendant, Alexandre was always smiling and very helpful. We ate most breakfasts in the buffet and most dinners in the dining room with my time dining. The food was good, even in the promenade cafe. Our wait staff in the dining room were very attentive & always smiling. The seating areas were very overcrowded making it very difficult to maneuver through the chairs. Both in the dining room & the buffet. In the buffet there was a constant call to move out & let others in, one could not even enjoy an extra cup of coffee in peace. The din from the clatter of things was loud. The shows and entertainment were good. Amazing to watch the ice show on a moving ship. Again at the various bar areas there was little seating and they were jammed as well. Especially on the promenade deck. The ports were amazing, we took some RC shore excursions & did some on our own. The port experts/lecturers showed little or no enthusiasm & even had trouble pronouncing port names.RC needs to improve the organization of the gathering prior to shore excursions leaving the ship Quite chaotic and mixed up misinformation on the part of the staff. There was quite an upset on the beach transfer buses in Lanzarote. Problems in Agadir, although some were port problems. As well directions on leaving the ship in a group was very confusing due to poor communication between the staff members. For this itinerary I might suggest doing more ports on your own We had a great time on this cruise and as it was a busy itinerary

we enjoyed the sea days. Again, the loungers on deck were jammed together to provide more seating making it difficult to get on and off them. Only on one sea day were most of the loungers used.

Would highly recommend this itinerary, Just some minor ship updates as she is starting to look tired in areas. My guess with the tight seating areas they are trying to please the complaints of lack of seating, but now things are too crowded together. Had a wonderful cruise.

Interior Stateroom with Virtual Balcony

Cabin VB

Great size for an interior stateroom. We enjoyed the virtual balcony and would book one again.

Port Reviews

Southampton

Loved Southampton. We stayed overnight at Mercure Dolphin Hotel. We typically choose a hotel with some history. There is a long interesting history there. A bit tired in places.

Southampton was amazing, we did our own little walking tour. Enjoyed learning the history. Ended up with our meal at the pier.

Vigo

We took a tour with Tours4Cruisers. We had contacted Laura in advance and she told us it was 17 Euros for the tour and one pays at the end. We walked off the ship and found her in her traditional garb. The tour showed us the sights of Vigo. Would recommend this company, as the tour was great and low priced. We made arrangements to meet up with this same company in La Coruna. After the tour we walked around old town and stopped at an oyster bar for a cold drink. Then made our way back to the ship.

Lisbon

Absolutely loved Lisbon. Such an amazing place. Enjoyed sailing in and sail away.Too much to see in one day. We made prior arrangements to take a tuk tuk tour with Tuk Tuk Tejo. I contacted Theresa there and she got back to me quickly with all the info we needed and helped to select the tour that would suit us.Very reasonably priced for 5 of us. Our guide was Henrique. He was very informative and knowledgeable. He really seemed to like what he was doing. We had port pick up and he dropped us at a charming little cafe called Ma Fama close to the ship. The food and drink were great and we had a fun afternoon there.
