We booked this cruise as part of a package. Having had a fantastic trip to Canada and New York, we were ready for a weeks relaxation on board. We were also first time cruisers, so quite excited.

The boarding process can only be described as chaos. We had to provide a boarding time slot beforehand and we really can’t understand why, as there was no times, just chaos. And lots of queueing.

Once boarded we took time to explore the ship. What spoiled this was the hard sell, from day one. Buy this, buy that - all extras. It was off putting from the start. Also, the noise - loud music and people (Mainly Americans and South East Asians) pushing and shoving. We were horrified. It got no better, we just tolerated it.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BB

The balcony cabin was ok. It was clean, to a point (dust and greasy fingerprints on furniture) and there was enough space. We had no tea or coffee making facilities and it wasn’t until we spoke to other fellow cruisers two days later we realised we should have had this. In fairness, once requested, it came. The balcony area was not cleaned once, which by the end of the cruise was bad, because of the weather, so you could not sit out on it without being covered in sea salt. Jason the cabin steward was friendly though. Nice touch with the towel folding. He left all information for us clearly on show.
