We sailed our first cruise on this ship Jan 2015 and had a wonderful time. When they offered the deal with no port fees or taxes, I jumped on it. Made arrangements for 10 family and friends to go. .my second trip on this ship and saw the shows before but still good....The first and last days the elevators are crazy. This wasn't the greatest cruise with rough seas and trip to the Cay was canceled because of rough water and tendering but that's mother natures fault. I was very bothered by the amount of cigarette smoke....seemed there was a lot of smoking in restricted areas and no one stopped them...even on the balconies which drifted to mine. It's obvious they have cut back on staff since we sailed the Breakaway in Jan 2015.. Things take a little longer...can't blame the staff for that. The food choices at buffet seemed to be smaller although doable. The Manhattan room is always a good experience.....in the specialty restaurants La Cucina and Cagneys are great. LUNCH AT TASTE ON EMBARKATION DAY....we all ordered burgers well done and everyone was blood raw...never went back there. Overall when weather permitting the pools and hot tubs, the games, beverages and food were very good.

Disembarkation was a nightmare....must be out of room by 9am....stop serving food at 9 am...but the Mahattan terminal in NYC can't handle the volume so it took us 3 hrs to get off the ship....There also needs to be a little more help with porters with your luggage...10 of us...4 in their 70's pushing 80 had a hard time dragging everything through customs...again the ports issue. But this ship is the biggest in NYC , NCL should work with them to improve that.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BA

Not huge room but enough room and storage. the shower drain clogged first night and flooded the bath but they came and fixed it right away. I asked for a mattress topper since my arthritis and fibro was flaring and my room Steward Fernando jumped right on that. Had them empty the drinks from the refrigerator right away and had preordered bottles of water to put in there. They have body wash and shampoo in the showers but did'nt like the shampoo very much. The carpets are worn but I saw them when they were new so this is why she's going in for some cosmetics in a few months. I wasn't crazy about this particular location on the ship 13 th floor...it was closer to the front on the port side. A lot of kids it seems but closer to the kids activities. Previously I was on the 9th floor very close to the back on the starboard side. When leaving Manhattan, this is the side to be on to see the Statue of Liberty. Coming back you have to get up by 6 am to see it.
