I chose this cruise because I wanted to surprise my brother and his wife. First off, food was great BUT service was marred by people who were burned out by working too many hours. Wait staff was visibly tired and it showed at times. My brother (who has a sight impairment) told to sign a receipt which I know he could not see was charged 14.00 for a drink. I attended the captains Q and A because I wanted know what type of fuel the ship ran on and when I asked the captain replied ". . .I have already answered that question many times so next question" granted I was about 5 min. late but hey don't be rude - he could have said that that statistic was in the flyer being handed out. To make matters worse the cruise director, Geo, would ask me every time he saw me if I got my question answered, he even singled me out to ask me at one of the activities in front of a large crowd which was very embarrassing - to top it off as I was leaving ship he (Geo) yelled at me if I got my question answered, very tacky by him and embarrassing for me.

The first show we went to was so loud it was uncomfortable to even listen to (speakers were distorting sound). Elvis had to make fun of audience for being so old - hey I know I am old (64) but I don't need to be reminded about it by some Elvis wannabe. Drinks (which I don't do but my wife likes one every now and then) were very expensive - OH, I did have a non-alcoholic beer, which was 6.00 - I can get a whole 6 pack for that. Most people bought an all you can drink package and made full use of it as the drunks started at 8:00am and were at the bar all day long - and of course to get anywhere on boat you had to go by these all day drunks. All in all I had a good time with my family but to take another cruise with NCL I would think about it before I paid this type of money to do again.

In summery every thing on board cost money and a the few people who embarrassed me in front of other people I made the best of what I could do. Oh, people making announcements had such a heavy accent they were really hard to understand. BUT, I really liked my cabin steward and cabin. The whale watching tour we took was horrible - the crew spent more time playing with their kids then explaining what was around us
