Alaska cruise was on bucket list. Friend did NCL last year and recommended it. Should have known better when he said he spent most of cruise with an acupuncturist.

Cabin was great but closet hard to use as too close to bed. Otherwise great for the price. Balcony a must and we used it to get away from the hoards and see whales and Glacier Bay. And it was quiet. So quiet we could not hear the captain's daily talk over ship's loud speakers. Had to open cabin door to hear. His informative talk was on the tv but never knew when he was doing it so unless tv always on that station, not good. Which leads to a general lack of proper information. Lots of stuff regarding sales and money making pitches on daily ship paper but no menus, weather, or stuff the captain was reporting on. The cabin steward was pretty good. Cheerful etc but nothing spectacular. He really did not offer much and we did not use it. Would have expected some offers such as dinner being brought to the room etc. Tipped him $25 extra over the required tip anyway. He seemed a bit nicer after that.

This was our first cruise. Heard horror stories about long waits at boarding but even though there was a long line it moved rapidly and we boarded fast and without issue. As it should be.

Very nice but closet too close to bed. Very quiet and that is good but might have a speaker to hear captain's daily talk or better yet publish it in the paper or on the tv station. Maybe a recording. Guys, get some better management!
