My husband and I originally planned this cruise for our 30 year wedding anniversary, but time constraints forced us to delay a year. After research, we realized that this cruise was the most cost effective way to explore 4 Hawaiian islands. We booked through Costco and included nonstop flights on Hawaiian Airlines from JFK, transfers, 3 specialty restaurants,$50 onboard credit, $215 Costco card and 3 nights afterwards at the Marriott in Waikiki, with full buffet breakfasts daily. We paid $6400.00 for all of this!! We opted to book the least expensive inside cabin:#7677 because we knew the ship sailed at night and we wanted to put our money towards excursions.
I was a bit apprehensive after reading mixed reviews. Honestly, I was so pleasantly surprised with every aspect of our experience. Embarkation was smooth and the barbecue on the deck for the sail away party set the tone for fun and fabulous food for the entirety of the cruise. Every single interaction with every member of the crew was positive and infused with genuine warmth. In particular I need to mention a few by name who touched our hearts and felt like family: Cheyeanne, the amazing waitress and singer who looks just like Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michelle and "Texas"...(Elizabeth) from the entertainment staff who gave me deeper wrinkles from making me laugh and smile so much, Joslino, and our waiter at the best restaurant I have ever dined in "MODERNO".
As a New Yorker, I am an avid theater goer and consider myself a discerning critic.I appreciate good entertainment in all forms. Again, the cruise did not disappoint! However, the most entertaining evenings for us were the ones where the passengers were showcased... in particular:"The Perfect Couple" , "Dance Clash" and "The Not So Newlywed Game" !!! The Cruise Director, Vincent and the Assistant Cruise Director Jaime knew just how to bring out the funniest and most outrageous from every day people.
Clean, clean, comfortable, with plenty of storage space.
