It's Alaska. Everyone should make this trip to see Alaska - especially since so much of this cruise is to areas that are difficult or impossible to access any other way.

A previously positive experience with Holland America saw us booking this cruise to Alaska many months ago with them. Our previously experience was in Europe. Sadly we discovered the "passenger profile" of the American cruise is quite different than our experience in Europe.

We were notified two days before the start of the cruise (in Vancouver) that this ship had experienced a Norwalk Virus outbreak on the previous segment. This was going to required "super cleaning" at Vancouver, hence a later boarding time. Unfortunately the "super cleaning" did not seem to do the trick. Our cruise too had a big Norovirus outbreak with many passengers renaming the ship the "ms Norodam".

Cabin Review

Superior Verandah Suite

Cabin SS

Cabin is spacious, but decor and fittings at the end of their useful life. Water pressure in the shower was low. Dislike the flimsy shower curtain.

Cabin had "crunchy carpet" so I wouldn't walk around without shoes.
