Wechose this cruise for the ports and the schedule. turned out to be a lovely week with perfect weather. Captain was excellent at engaging the passengers and helping spot wildlife on shore, etc., to maximize the experience. With an outbreak of norovirus, every crew member had to help with hand sanitizing at meals, and all activities. The food was plentiful if not inspired, at least in the Lido.....always found something, but it definitely had the look and taste of mass-produced meals. Food and service in the specialty restaurants and main dining room was excellent. Stateroom always clean and service with a smile. Primary complaint was the constant up-selling of everything - from beverages to spa services. Atone point, we tried to purchase a cup of coffee in the Crow's Nest, where they offered a coffee with alcohol in it, but refused to simply sell us a cup of coffee (even though we offered to pay the full price!--we were told we had to go down 7 decks to get it).....a few requests such as that received 'no' and an answer....something that another cruise line we enjoyed did not say.
well maintained, great service, really enjoyed having the verandah. Sometimes a challenge to find steward - but when we did, service with a smile.
