We have been on all the RSS ships (as well as Seaboard and Silversea) and enjoy Voyager best. Indeed we had the same suite 1005 as last year from Singapore to Dubai. Meantime there has been extensive excellent refurbishment which has enhanced several areas. Indeed after a less than satisfactory cruise in November on Explorer (a massive disappointment) we were regarding this cruise as make or break with Regent. We were very satisfied overall other than a couple of minor hiccups. We will continue to return - especially with laundry and pressings. We do not think butlers enhance the cruise and a penthouse isn't worth the extra. Overnight in the Westin Excelsior in Rome was very pleasant and an excellent room. Transfer, as last time, was a little chaotic at the hotel end but also very Italian if you look at it again (and it was the same last time!) The suite, boat, staff and service are all first rate. All staff helpful and smiling. Dining - Compass Rose is lovely; the new decor is very good too. Always perfect service and food. Chartreuse is excellent too and we dined there three times - as its a limited menu that is just right and each experience perfect. Prime seven also is excellent but a little on the dark side on Voyager - especially on a summer cruise. Settle Mare really desperately needs a makeover and we are a little tired of the rather minimally changing menu - which was of variable standard. It is as La veranda excellent for breakfast and lunch. We like the pool deck 'healthy' breakfast which seems underused - and it mitigates against you having unnecessary cooked food! Again the pool deck does very good themed lunches most days. Entertainment as a mix of the ship's company and guest cabaret was just right for us - not too long and a good selection. We prefer the new entertainers to the time expired Jean Ann Ryan repeats. Ray's own show was of very high quality and its always good to see Krew Kapers. Cocktail parties early evening for various events are a waste of time when the weather is so good outside. Shore excursions are of a good standard overall, but in an effort to make some last four to four and a half hours, unnecessary free time is put in when you've already been on your feet 2-3 hours. There will always be some variability of guides' English. Our only real hiccup was a mess up with gondola tickets given out wrongly with a long wait culminating in us deciding after an hour to wait no longer. Other than that destinations did well. Our cruise had an add on 2 nights and Opera at Verona. Hotel Victoria Palazzo is 4 star rather than five. De luxe so called rooms are their standard and very small. It is well situated. Opera - Madama Butterly - seats provided by Regent really were the best in the house. Excellent. A very good walking tour of Verona the following morning which included revisiting the Arena was very good.

We like Voyager and Regent Value
