We expected only the best; it was our first ocean cruise and we loved the experience. Our cabin was exactly mid-ship, 836. Every need and whim was fulfilled by the concierge staff. Laundry was delivered promptly every day. Our complimentary drinks were restocked daily with our premium choices. Fresh towels and toiletries twice a day; a girl could get used to this! Our balcony afforded a delightful private vista; we enjoyed toasting to the splendor right in front of us. Cannot rave enough about the ship. The library, the spa, the restaurants, and my favorite of every morning: pool deck for yoga, stretching, jogging before breakfast. Nothing compares to running the deck while docked at Monte Carlo. Lorenzo, the maitre d'hotel at Sette Mare/La Veranda takes personal attention to a whole new level. We enjoyed breakfast there every morning, a few lunches, and dinners at large tables for 8 to 12. Small table, or large, Lorenzo ensures an exceptional experience. The barbecue night on the pool deck was such fun! Our table had 12 and do not think typical barbecue--it is lobster, ice sculptures, fantastic desserts. Another dining occasion was the open-kitchen lunch at Compass Rose. Guests toured the kitchen, saw the staff at work, and chose from an elaborate buffet inside the kitchen. Impressive! Our dining experiences in Prime 7 were preferable to Chartreuse; both require advance reservations. Dining Ratings: Service is excellent, food is very good to excellent, wine choices are pedestrian. The level of attention is what makes it superb. We never spent a daytime on the ship; included and purchased excursions were very nice and efficiently run. Great value. Favorites were the Sicilian Wine Roads and City Walls and Museum in Dubrovnik. Insight into the ports-of-call was enriched by the three lectures by Smithsonian Institution expert, Dianne Konz. We attended all three in person, but her lectures were video broadcast available. Entertainment is fun. The Voyager Production Cast is first rate. The Kapers night when the staff performs is a treat and sentimental because you see the people who have served you all week, giving it their all! All the staff show dedication and are indefatigable; Ray Solaire, Cruise Director sets the pace. Reception desk staff is amazing. Thank you- beaucoup- to Angie! William Gomez, the Executive Concierge is attentive, available and is dedicated to avoiding problems, solving problems and ensuring excellence.
