Barcelona Baltic Beyond = best bang for the buck; sailed to many countries; if we cross the Atlantic, we stay as long as possible on ship. Crew was the best Viking crew we have encountered altho all other Viking crews were very good. (previously 2 Viking river) Ate mostly in World Cafe; could not beat the selections; love trying different foods and the small plates at many stations were perfect. Love that the entree selections could also be sized down; entrees were amazing esp if you like meat, wild game; venison was excellent as was the duck and lamb; food station folks were beyond helpful, courteous and aimed to please; EVERYTHING was fresh and made on board including every piece of bread, pastry, and gelato. Five flavors of gelato daily with two flavors rotating daily. Table service was friendly and impeccable; servers took the time to learn about the daily wines the night before and were happy to explain them; also happy to keep your glass full. Captain and many crew also ate at World Cafe and were accessible to passengers despite trying to eat their meal. Ship is masterfully appointed and as another already mentioned, seemed lean, clean, and slightly more masculine than feminine in textures, colors, design. Fine by me, a female. Cabin crew were attentive, excellent, and cared about keeping us safe during a period of high winds and sea. Cannot think of a way to improve the ship or the itinerary. All but two tours excellent; mediocre Helsinki and Stockholm; tour these on your own.
Deck 6; convenient location; verandas are a must; wonderful bath, bigger than Viking river and lots of storage. Nicely appointed, adequate public space adjacent sleeping area. Had the inconvenient coffeemaker removed which added a deep, high, convenient storage area to drop frequently used fleeces etc. Closet ample but situated very close to bed
Viking changed this stop from Guernsey to Jersey Island, town of Saint Helier prior to trip departure; great town; great tour guide; worth driving around the island and seeing so much
