Chose this trip because it is an easy way to see several countries while returning to the comforts of a ship each night. Port in Barcelona was pretty easy to get to. There is a shuttle bus for 2 euro that will take you there from town. I'll lay it out for you:
Balcony cabin: loved a balcony, it was roomy with a table and 2 chairs. Worth the money in my opinion. Nice to be out there are arrivals, departures and simply to enjoy the warm breeze and stargaze at night. Overall, the cabins could use a facelift. Although the amenities were there (along with very useful storage), the decor was tired and reminiscent of the 1990s with hunter greens and peach. Carpet was downright gross. Bed comfy enough and pullout sofa plenty for 2 teens. Outlets were for USA and Europe. Not many of them though. Underbid storage very spacious to stow luggage.
Food: Eh. Typical. Nothing mind-blowing. The upgraded restaurants menu looked nice, but we did not splurge. We would have gone to Giovanni's...it smelled wonderful! Johnny Rocket's seemed like a ghost town most days. I think for $7 you could get all you can eat burgers, dogs and fries. It was awkwardly located near the kids club. The Windjammer was like all buffets.....cattle calls nudging your way in to spoon piles of mediocre foods on your plate while the guy next to you coughs into his hand and ladles gobs of mashed potatoes on his plate, with said hand. (Gross) And if you value "personal space" like I do, forget it. Your space will be invaded by hungry people that probably aren't from the same country as you. Main dining room.....ok. Prime rib was best dish. Do My time dining if you can. Port days tend to be very long. Cupcake Board in Promenade seemed like a bust out too. Again, never saw anyone in there. Room service isn't free anymore. It's a $7.95 charge.
See above. Spacious and adequate, but decor was tired and due for an update. Nothing felt clean because of the age. Curtains were soiled, mirrors chipped, carpeting gross, wall art faded.
