FOOD--I was originally concerned about the mixed reviews for the MSC Divina, particularly about food quality. We have travelled on Carnival several times in the last decade. The last time I said "NO MORE" Carnival food looked pretty but was consistently tasteless. MSC food was surprisingly good, I think about as good as it can get when you're feeding thousands of people in two dinner seatings. There were a couple disappointments, beef wellington crust totally mushy, pasta and cheese (mac -n- cheese) with fake crab topping, for example. However, I was so relieved on the first night when the food was delicious.

ENTERTAINMENT-- We saw the Mask show at the beginning of the cruise. I'm a bit of a snob about review shows and don't care for cruise entertainment shows that much. The cruise director announced that since the line attracts such a variety of language speakers, they steer the entertainment to be more visual, as opposed to having stand up comedians, etc. I thought the Mask show was entertaining, the dancing and costumes were good, the acrobatics were cirque de soleil-esque, which I did not expect. We didn't go to other shows, just not my thing. The live music on the cruise was very good.

CABIN--we had a balcony cabin for our family of four toward the front of the ship. The balcony is shaped out of the metal bulk head of the ship when it's toward the front. This means that the bottom half of the balcony is solid metal and it limits your view. Can't see over the balcony when seated. I wished I had researched more, not the cruise fault, but I wouldn't make that mistake again. Our cabin was amazing, clean with more room for our stuff than expected. Seems we were not stepping over each other as much as we did with Carnival. The room steward, was amazing. No folded animal towels on MSC, but my pajamas were nicely folded on my nightstand before bed every night, which I thought was sweet

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B3

This cabin is built into the bulkhead. . . no clear glass in bottom half of the balcony. Can't see out when sitting. We worked around it, but I'd book toward the middle of the ship if possible. The room itself was perfect. Comfortable for our family of 4
