Port- Embarkation

Very convenient port in terms of access. We stayed in a hotel just a few blocks away which offered a shuttle the morning of embarkation. Porters are immediately available at the pier to take your luggage. We were in a suite, so the check-in process was extremely quick. For suite guests, as well as upper tier VFIP members, there is a Captain's lounge to wait in until time for boarding. The person in charge of the boarding for the Captain's lounge kept everyone informed and approached boarding in a very organized fashion: after the wedding parties, upper level VFIP members went first and suites followed. Interestingly enough, after the representative lined us up and paraded us over in a line to the boarding area, the person who was verifying boarding passes stopped the first suite guests and said that they were only boarding VFIP upper tiers. The suite guests she stopped explained how we were lined up by the Captain's lounge rep and the boarding agent then went into a little rant- "why don't we just let everybody board then, everybody come on board"...etc. It was a little awkward, but we did just as she commanded and proceeded onboard :-) There was no scanning of sail and sign cards, even though we already had ours- just a visual check and onto the boat we went. Check in time 10:20; on boat by noon for sure.

Cabin Review

Captain's Suite

Cabin CS

Definitely spacious for Carnival. Large balcony, but take note: you will be on display for all guests of balcony cabins on that side of the ship to see. This is because of the way i which the balcony for the suite is positioned. We knew this thread of time though- went in with an open mind- still awkward lol. Our next door neighbor tried to start up conversations while we were out on the balcony in our PJs. Nice, comfy bed. Large panoramic window to look out FWD with automatic shades, Two full baths (only one with a tub). Average amount of storage for a suite, as one of the closets is now sealed shut. Couldn't really figure out why. Visible wear and tear included peeling wallpaper and rust in areas of the cabin. Do note: Carnival suite perks are virtually non-existent, you are essentially paying for space only.
