I have taken over 30 cruises all over the world, of all sizes and prices, and the Pride of America is, without question, the worst ship I've ever been on. Here's why:

Service is mediocre at best. Staff doesn't seem to care about the passengers. Understaffed in dining room during critical hours. Despite a full ship and constant wait lines, 20-25% of the tables in the two formal dining rooms were not in use during the evening rush.

Food is poor quality. Examples: No smoked salmon in the buffet (despite having setups of capers, onions and lemons ready). No high quality cheeses at buffet (brie, blue, etc.), just thin sliced american and swiss. No lobster ever, anywhere. Tiny quantities of more expensive ingredients (2.5 small shrimp in a shrimp ceviche (they sliced them in half lengthwise!), 1 sausage slice in a sausage pasta, etc.). Tea, for you tea drinkers, is Lipton quality (i.e. bring your own tea). The only expresso machine was broken for half the trip and never repaired.
