Choose this cruise for two ports of call. Key West and a 3 day stop at New Orleans. This is the second Celebrity cruise we have sailed that at had multiple days at a port. The other was the New England cruise that goes to Quebec City for 2 days, and that cruise we plan on doing again. Now this cruise was very enjoyable, and the unexpected Corning Glass blowing presentations were really interesting. Extremely talented professionals from Corning provided narration and entertainment all while blowing and forming some very exquisite pieces. You also get to bid on the pieces on the last day at auction. The ship is loaded with balcony cabins and our cabin was the best one we have had in 12 cruises. Very roomy and well laid out with loads of storage. Dining venues were numerous but we are traditional diners and that leads us to our disappointment. The early dining needs to be moved from 6:00PM to at least 5:30PM to allow enough time to make the early theater shows. There is a work around we found on the 3rd day. The upper deck of the Silhouette main dining room does accommodate early dinning opening at 5:30PM. Its still a little rushed to make the early show. Over all this is a great ship and we were very happy with the cruise. The staff and crew are the friendliest we ever had on a ship. Something that was missing was the usual food and fruit carving buffet night on the cruise, and the dining room waiter parade and sing was also absent at the last night..
Best cabin we have had, very well laid out with loads of storage. Hope our next cabin is this good.
A little rushed because of a late ship arrival, but well done after all.
Rented a golf cart and covered Key West in 3 hours. Visited the Mel Fisher Maritime Museum, beach area, harbor etc.
OK how can you not enjoy New Orleans. Traveled around by trolley which was available right off the boat. Eat lunch in a little cafe and enjoyed alligator bites and beer, A walk around provided the expected bands and street entertainers. Exploring the shops and soaking in the special ambiance of the French Quarter was a great experience. The Aquarium was a little disappointing as we have seen better. The WWII museum was great, allow a lot of time to enjoy this attraction. Four buildings with a 5th in the works. And a unique feature is your dog tag which give your a GI to follow through out your visit. Placing the dog tag on the appropriate exhibit locations will show you GI's connection to the battle.
