We chose this cruise because it leaves from Tampa (live in the area) and because of the unique itinerary to Central America and Key West. We were pleasantly surprised with how nice and how clean the ship is. The crew was "friendly enough" in that they provided good customer service but certainly did not bombard you with greetings or asking if you needed anything. Have to admit that I was a little surprised after just sailing with Princess two months earlier that crew members walked right by me without a smile or eye contact or anything - other passengers were more friendly than the HAL staff. I got used to it the second day.

Room was average size (small) but the balcony was huge! At first I thought there was no place for our stuff because there was no traditional dresser space but the room is loaded with storage opportunities - look under the bed for the drawers and a place to stash luggage. Also, the loveseat has drawers for storage, both night stands, and 3 closets where I has shelves, one hanging, and one can convert between the two.

I was expecting to be disappointed in food because we've taken several Princess cruises but we were not at all. I would say the food was as good or better than Princess which is known for good food. The only comment I have about it is the availability and assortment. My husband felt the variety was good but he can eat the same thing everyday. He also felt there was always something to eat, which there was, but very limited between standard meal times. This just meant we had to plan well. The Lido dining room for the buffet is beautiful; stunning really. Every table has an orchid. The views from the main dining room (Vista?) were fabulous no matter where we were seated.
