I chose this cruise because Princess is meant to have a good reputation. This was advertised as a 5 star cruise and had been re-vamped prior to us boarding. This ship has been re-furbished in some areas but not all and our cabin was not 5 star quality. Carpet stained, worn and peeling away from the wall under the wardrobes, no little bathroom accessories only 2 pump dispensers in the shower. The shower did not drain properly. The furnishings were very worn, the TV was out of the ark. Outdoor swimming pool area dangerous as the safety flooring is shot and rising into big bubbles. A hazard to say the least. Some mosaics missing on the inside of the pool, trims missing on the outside of the pool. I witnessed 2 ladies falling to the floor within 20 mins of each other round the pool area. The smell on Baja deck as we came out of the lift had a terrible odour I thought I had entered an old peoples home, this smell was present for the whole of our cruise and was all down the passage. I found a large percentage of the cruise clientele to be elderly and plenty of mobile motorised carts are used on board. This ship had good personal service and is probably one of the ships where staff are focused on this aspect of cruising because of the elderly and infirm. Not using Princess again.
Very poor for a five star cruise. We are fairly well travelled on cruises and this was not we expected. Some cabins may have been re-carpeted and had new drapes, but for us that was not the case.
Not worth exiting the ship to walk about. Short stay so not a major problem
