The ship and amenities are gorgeous. The food is certainly on par with the level of excellence that Oceania offers, however, there were 2 items that drove me crazy which will be the deciding factor when booking my next cruise. First: Iron's and ironing boards are not allowed in the staterooms - for security reasons. I'm in my 50's and don't think that I'm at risk of a security breach or any safety issues while pressing a shirt. The ship has a laundry room on each deck, but who wants to use those to press one's drawers??
Second: All staterooms are equipped with blow dryers, however, you can not use them in the bathroom. Again, for security reasons. They must be used at the desk in the suite. I don't want to blow my hair dry at the desk. I want to blow it dry in the bathroom. It's not an unusual or unrealistic request.
So even though it was a lovely trip, I'll think twice about booking again on a Oceania Cruise and will opt for another ship that doesn't see me as a security risk while holding a blow dryer.
Head to 7 mile beach. Keep walking to avoid all of the crowds from other ships, and find your remote spot. Perfect day.
boring as hell. it's a plastic mall for cruise ships
