If one wants to see several islands without having to pack up and move this is the way. Hawaii is beautiful, day and night. Cruising made getting around easy. The cruise itself was ok. Did NCL 3 day tour of Oahu before cruise. It was excellent, great driver/tour guide. Was able to stay at Cultural Center for Luau and get other transportation back to hotel. The ship only has 2100 guests so it was not a long way from one end to the other. It was updated recently so it looks and feels nice. we had a cabin on deck 4 with an oceanview. The room was fine for the little time we spent there. Room steward was attentive and remembered our names. Dining was good at best. Buffet was the normal madhouse. Did no specialty dining. Most evening meals were in Sky, the casual main dining room(shorts/tshirts allowed). Had no problem walking up around 630 to 7 and getting a table. Having a different waiter was difficult. we did get same waiter 3 nights and that worked much better. Food was average. On appetizers that had shrimp they were cut in half lengthwise and then 3 pieces were used. Food was well presented, it just didn't have any wow. Ordered a bottle of wine, the wine steward in opening it, pulled the cork which ended up on floor and splashed a lady at next table. The entertainment was probably the best thing on this ship. Singers and dancers were very good. Comedian was funny. Smokers were sent to an open air bar, rear of ship, deck 13. when ship is underway it gets breezy at best. for cigar smokers it was a challenge. We toured islands by ourselves. On Maui and Kauai we rented a car and saw the major sites at our own pace. Traffic can become congested and cause you to be late. On last day at Kauai, we traveled north and no traffic problems but on return we were stopped or crawling most of the way back. We made last shuttle from car rental to ship. On Hawaii we made arrangements with Island Wide Family Tours(islandwidefamilytours.com). They took us on private tours in both Hilo and Kona. Kyle guided us both days and did a wonderful job. never felt rushed, he took an interest in what we wanted to see and do. Snorkeling was new to us and he got in the water at 2Step to make sure we were comfortable. Now that we have toured Hawaii, found some places we really enjoy, on return we would stay put.

Good way to see the islands
