We have cruised on RCCL for many years and although have not reached pinnacle status, we have 500+ points. We were extremely disappointed with the disorganization we observed during this cruise. The debacle in Boston was unforgivable and giving each passenger a drink ticket, added insult to injury. It was absolutely heartbreaking viewing the hundreds of elderly persons on walkers and canes standing in the extremely long lines for endless hours. The crew did nothing to organize, assist or make the process more humane. The public restrooms onboard the ship were unsanitary as some of the toilets were unflushed and unwashed, the wastepaper baskets were continuously full of paper towels and I cannot recall one time where this was not the issue. We never saw an attendant, which is very unusual, cleaning the restrooms.

The woman's locker room/shower/spa area was flooded for several days, with as much as 1 inch of water on floor and instead of having an attendant mopping the area, a sign was placed to be careful of wet floor. This extremely dangerous situation went on for several days even though it was reported.

The food was mediocre, the selection was poor and I must say that eating in Chops and Giovanni's several times during our cruise was disappointing. I sent back my very thin, overcooked lamb chops twice and finally decided to just accept the fact that this was going to be as good as it gets. We are grateful for having the amenities (although some have disappeared over the years) and could not believe the embarrassing process of locked doors until after 5:00 in the temporary diamond lounge on deck 5. We attempted to use the concierge lounge several times but there was very limited space even thought we arrived prior to 5:00. On the arrival into New York, we went to the Diamond Lounge on deck 14 only to find it stacked with dirty dishes and silverware. Not one crew member was present during the 2 and a half hours we were there. My husband called three times to report the unsanitary condition and was told that someone would be there to correct the situation yet that never happened.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Nice cabin, room steward was attentive and professional

Port Reviews

Southampton

Did not stay in Southampton; vacationed in London and took private car to port.

Boston

Entire experience onboard ship upon arrival to Boston was disorganized and poorly managed. Boston is a wonderful city for those who were able to disembark in a timely fashion.

New York (Manhattan)

Excellent port and very convenient walking to Time Square, Central Park, etc.

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Nothing to do at this port
