Regatta Cruise Review by JaneRichard
- Sail Date: July 2016
- Destination: Alaska
- Cabin Type: Deluxe Ocean View
Embarkation was extremely quick. We did, however, have to wait until 3:00 pm to enter our cabin. This wasn't much of an issue as we lunched and then waited on the pool deck. Our stateroom 4041 was conveniently located with easy access to both sets of elevators. Our cabin was well decorated. Oceania provides plush robes and slippers for each guest as well as complimentary water and soda in your stateroom.
The staff was wonderful. Everyone always addressed us by name and couldn't have been nicer or more efficient. The food was very good for the most part. The scallops were great as was a seafood crepe. However, the Maine lobster at the Polo Grill was a little tough. They also had an issue getting the steaks just right. Medium rare was just a bit overdone. The selections were always interesting though, and I'm just being a little overly critical. Cappuccino and espresso are always available at no extra charge.
The chaise lounges were fabulous with thick cushions covered with terry cloth sheets. We sat for hours comfortably watching for whales etc.
The Cruise Director, Dottie, was very good so was the comedian and violinist. We enjoyed our afternoon trivia and attended bingo twice.
Too many pluses to write about here. Loved just about everything!
