Our first time cruising. We were on Deck 11, Baja, and the room was great with the balcony. Our steward was very accommodating and helpful. Always called us by our last name respectfully.

Our only glitch was at the Victoria, BC, port. We arrived around 7 p.m. as scheduled. It took the ship staff quite a while to get customs clearance leaving a lot of persons with no time to get to their excursions. Excursions held up as long as possible but once given clearance to de-board, it was a total mess. We were in a long line to exit and got to a point when a staff member told us to follow a different line that literally led us back to the back of the line. We were furious to say the least. That mistake cost us another 1/2 hour. There were several persons yelling at the total mess they were leading us through.

Overall, food was great at the restaurant. The cleanliness was very good the the restaurant staff professionally trained with excellent 4 course meals at every meal. Definately go for the the 2 sit down white table cloth restaurants. The food is created from scratch and wonderful choices. As for the buffets, they were ok, but not to the level of the 2 restaurants that are part of the package as well. There are restaurants that you can pay for, but the 2 provided were great for us. And you meet a lot of other great guests as well. We always chose the "join another table" option for that reason. Overall, a great trip and very good excursions and tours.

Port Reviews

Seattle

Hotel rates are outrageous. Stayed near the Needle and the market area. Enjoyed walking to and around those areas. Overall Seattle seemed less than what I expected based on what we saw from the air and around town. Upon return to Seattle we originally changed our return flight to Denver as we read that it could take up to 4 hours to disembark. We ended up being safe and changing it to a 9 p.m. flight which was a tedious waste of time. We got off in 2 hours and a mid afternoon flight would have worked much better. The wait was terrible at the less than comfortable, outdated, overcrowded, unpleasant Seattle Airport. They are definitely ready for a new AP in that city. Cmon Bill Gates...give in to helping that out a little. The city overall seemed quite depressed and not associated with their rainy weather that we didn't even experience while we were there.
