This was our third cruise on the Summit, one of our favorite ships. Our background: 9 cruises, 5 on Cunard's QM2, 4 with Celebrity and 1 on Royal Caribbean. We are in our mid-60s and mid-70s. We have already booked another cruise to Bermuda on the Summit again next year. We love the Summit for its low key elegance, and extremely friendly and professional crew and smaller size/occupancy. We also love that there are three elevator locations, forward, mid-ship (outside glass with view) and aft. Captain Kate is a great captain and we hope to sail with her again. She is very personable, concerned for guests and crew, and witty.

Although some amenities have been cut back as most cruise lines have been doing, it doesn't seem to affect the ambiance on the Summit. The food on the Summit is mostly good to great. Less variety than prior years, but the ability to mix and match what's on the menu makes up for that. We always keep to a low salt diet and Summit is very good about accommodating our needs. Our favorite spot to eat is the aft deck in the back of the Ooeanview Café. Since I used a cane on this trip, the staff would offer to carry my tray. Thank goodness they got rid of the little pots of food and brought back the food trays to carry everything!

When we go on cruises, we just like to relax on deck and enjoy the sea views. If you like to be active, there's plenty to do and see. We enjoyed most of the entertainment. The stage shows with the singers/dancers were not as good as usual but still enjoyable. We did attend the CC Meet & Greet. Instead of snacks, each person was given 1 hour of free internet time. Unfortunately, when Captain Kate and the officers left, so did all the guests so we did not get to speak to many CC members. We also cruise when kids are usually in school so it's quieter and not a "party" ship.

Cabin Review

Ocean View 6

Cabin 06

Room was nice and well maintained. Lots of storage. Bed was comfy with four pillows, some soft some harder. Glad they still provide bathrobes. Shower has a curtain but does not stick to you like some do and long enough that very little water leaked out of shower. Our room steward was very good and attentive to our needs. Good location and quiet.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Embarkation with new terminal is a breeze.

King's Wharf

Love the tram that goes around the Dockyard. We have also been to Snorkle park several times. The fort/museum and other buildings are fun to walk through.
