My cruise on the Sunshine was my 23rd with Carnival and by far the worst. I can summarize this review by saying "What a difference a year makes." I was on the Carnival Splendor last year and have no complaints about that cruise. I have always considered Carnival to be my favorite cruise line but not any more. (I have been on NCL, RCCL, Princess, and Holland America, for a total of 45 cruises so this is not my first rodeo).
I went with a group of 14 people and we all are in agreement that if this was our first cruise we would never cruise again. I will try to be as brief as possible and list my grievances in order of when they happened.
1. Two of the people we were traveling with who booked suites (and are supposed to be treated as Platinum cruisers-- at least at embarkation and disembarkation) did not get their luggage until just before we had to be seated for dinner.
Just did some shopping by the port. I have been here many times and didn't feel like doing much after our long day in San Juan.
Just embarked the ship here. I personally didn't have any issues getting on the ship but some in my party had their luggage delivered quite late, even though they had suites, which are supposed to be delivered first, along with the Platinum members.
Just did some shopping and went to Margaritaville. Couldn't do much because we got to port so late that it wasn't worth it to try to struggle to get some space by the beach.
