The dining and excursions were fantastic. Dolphins, sharks, rays, and monkeys - oh my. Jade itself is a bit outdated. It was originally built for Hawaii use and has tacky Polynesian decorations only applicable when traveling there.
Having stayed in the Haven on other bigger boats, this class was less worth-while. No dedicated bar/lounge or dinner restaurant. Our Concierge (Omar) did a wonderful job making up for these short comings outside of the haven courtyard, but the lack of staffing and priority in the courtyard meant long waits for meals by the pool or drinks on either floor. We typically only had one steward for all this and it is simply not possible as he had to leave the haven and go to another floor for everything.
Entertainment was acceptable for a smaller vessel, but pales in comparison to larger ships like breakaway and Epic (Blue man group, cirque, and second city).
Cabin décor was Polynesian, but tolerable. Minor maintenance was needed on things like bathtub sprayer and soap trays. Having 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and general area was great with 3 teens though. Haven courtyard was well maintained and ratio of private sundeck to haven members was great.
Great experience. Be ready to shell out big $$ for photos and DVD. Photo quality is amazing though.
Not as good as the old shark ray alley tour, but definitely worthwhile as you are able to stand in shallow water versus constantly moving. Very young reserve so very little coral life, but plenty of open space for sharks, rays, barracuda, etc.
Playing with monkeys. 20+ of them bouncing between your groups, often playing king of the hill on the taller guests.
Went to NASA for the day on our own. NCL tour only gives you a couple hours and we wanted to see as much as we could. To see all the shows and tours takes about 7 hours. We were able to do all 3 tours, watch the ISS demo, and one movie - 5 hours. We paid to store our luggage there (group reservations) and headed straight to the airport afterwards.
