Recently returned from another cruise on the Gem. We stayed on the 14th floor where we had access to The Haven. The Haven is wonderful, however we had a few rooms occupied by children under 12 and they took over the pool and Jacuzzi area for hours. Not the fault of NCL, fault of the parents.
We had breakfast every morning at Cagneys and it was comfortable, quiet and the food delicious. We also had dinner there 2 nights and the filet mignon was awesome. We bought a package for the Mandara spa for the cruise and it is so worth it. You can spend all day there relaxing in the Jacuzzi, hydrospa, lounging chairs, sauna, steam room etc. We definitely got our monies worth and I recommend this to anyone looking for relaxation. Ate most of our meals in the Grand Pacific restaurant. Food was terrific and the atmosphere beautiful.
Unfortunately there was an outbreak of a virus around day 5-6 that caused us to not port in St Maarten for the day. Not the fault of the cruise line but of people who come on board sick. The cruise line did all they could to keep the ship sanitized. No one was allowed to touch the food. Didn't get sick and we still had a great vacation. Love the Gem!
Nice size room. We had a table with four chairs and a couch in the livingroom. Also had a coffee maker and mini frig. The bedroom had a queen size bed and the bathroom was large with 2 sinks, stall, bathtub, separate shower. We also had a small balcony with 2 chairs. Would stay in this room again.
Excellent walking/food tour. Learned about San Juan and tasted some great food.
Wonderful snorkeling and catamaran boat tour. Show beautiful sights and had snacks and drinks on board.
