Cabin: Courtyard Penthouse with Balcony
My wife and I had been on many NCL cruises before. This time we went all out for our 25th wedding anniversary and stayed in a Penthouse suite in the famous NCL Haven (ship withing a ship). We had stayed in a Penthouse suite before but never in the Haven. We picked the NCL Epic because of the size, event and location to Morocco and the Canary Islands.
We cruised out of this port before and expected about the same line, which they were. Not too many delays because this port seems to be active and organized.
Our concierge escorted us to the Haven where we were seated in the lounge and given about a 20 minute tour of the Haven advantages. We then went on our own to the room.

The EPIC has these new "rounded" rooms designed by a famous French designer. In few words they are terrible. No privacy, feel very small. Steward told us they got terrible feedback from customers and their new ships are a different design.

We thought the rating system was 1-5 where 5 was difficult. Turns out this tour was a 3 and the rating system is 1-3. We "hiked" 5 kilometers up and down the crater over large boulders and steps. OOPPPSSS....

Beautiful tours but be prepared for 2 hour bus ride both ways and very few public bathroom facilities.
