This was my 8th cruise and my boyfriends 1st. We are both in our young 40's. I want to mention that I am not a complaining type of person and wouldnt let minor things ruin my vacation (as I have read in some of the reviews on Cruise Critic). But in my review I want to cover some things that we didnt like or feel there could be improvements.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn, Port of Miami area, for one night prior to the cruise. It was nice and also very convenient to get to port the next morning. We arrived at the port approx 10:30 AM and check in was easy, no lines and no issues. We sat and waited for our zone to be called to board the ship. As we waited we were thirsty and looked around for either vending machines or a table with water but nothing available. I've been on other cruises and the cruise line provided water in the waiting area. It would be nice if Carnival did this also.
We finally got on board and went right to get Guy's Burgers for lunch and grabbed a drink from the Red Frog pub. We were able to walk around the ship and our cabins were ready by about 1.
