My husband and I recently sailed on Vision of he Sea with 3 other family members. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. What a great way to celebrate any special occasion. We flew in 1 day ahead and stayed in Barcelona. I would recommend coming at least 1 day ahead. There is so much to see. The cathedral that they have been building for 100 yrs. is a must see. The embarkation was very fast. The ship is very clean and all the staff are very friendly.we especially liked that the captain was very visible and took part in a lot of activities. He has quite a sense of humor when making his announcements. He had all of us laughing. ports of call were great.
Myfavorite was Kotor in Montenegro. I never heard of it an wasn't expecting much, but what a delightful surprise. Be out on the deck when coming into port. It's surrounded by mountains.
When you enter the old town you are in a medieval village. Very pretty, winding lanes, friendly people, something around every corner. Looks like a Disney movie.
The ocean view cabin was very comfortable. We tried to upgrade a couple months out and they were sold out. So if you want balcony get request in early.
We love RCCL. We have tried others but prefer Royal Cnaribbean. Once you try them you will see the difference.
I recommend coming in 1-2 days ahead. Barcelona is a beautiful city worth sight seeing. We stayed at hotel continental Barcelona right on las Ramblas. This is a high people area with souvenir shops and street entertainers. You also must see the cathedral. They have been building it for 100yrs and has many more years to go. When you see it you will know why. Ask anyone where it is ,they know what your talking about.
We arrived in Villefranchais. Pretty little town.we did our own trip. We wished we had stayed there, but we didn't. We took a train to Nice, then a tram down to the old town. Very crowded. Lots of walking, up and down hills. Hot, restaurants busy.if you like scenery and shopping stay in Villefranchais or Monaco.
Did not do tour. Ship got in at 3p.m. Got off 4 p.m. St. Marks closes at 5:00
Closed on Sunday.
Did a gondola ride at Rialto bridge where it is cheaper. Lots of walking, be prepared
Gelato delicious, souvenir venders our all about the same price. At the Rialto bridge bought a original watercolor picture from the artist signed. Beautiful work.
Quaint little port.Clean, people friendly. Go inside the gates and you are in a Disney movie. Love this little port.
Highly recommend. Around every corner is a photo moment. Wish we had more time
