Just got back from our cruise on the diadema first and last time we will cruise with Costa. The ship was way to overcrowded not enough public areas to handle 4000+ passengers. At the buffet we had to wait up to an hour to get food as the were not enough plates for all and then most of the food was cold or undercooked. The two main pools aré way too small to handle all passengers it was like an obstacle course just to get one leg in and inpossible to have a quiet bathe, twice i had two young children land on my head while they were jumping in and out.
On the tours we did we were told to be at a dessignated aréa of the ship at 9 o clock so we could get our buses and on both occasions we were still onboard at 11 waiting. We had the all inclusive package yet when we got onboard we had to pay for everything except for a selection of drinks the bufe and main restaurant. The only highlight is the entertaiment team who do all they can do to keep you amussed, and our waiter in the fiorentino restaurant who was brilliant ( lazaro). If you are looking for a quiet hassle free holyday avoid this ship at all cost.
Our cabin was good our cabin attendant (Edwin) was allways on hand to help.
Embarking and dissembarking was very quick both done within 30 minutes
Took the shuttle bus to city at 9.95 hop on/off all day
We took the pisa and florence tour late again leaving ship bus broke down in pisa and had to wait nearly an hour for a replacement not allowed to have lunch until 5pm with means we spent 9 hours in 36c heat without eating.
Port was close to town so easy access from ship 15 minute walk
Were not allowed to dissembark by foot due to building work in harbour so either had to get taxi 25€ to centre or 13.95 for the bus. 90% of business were clósed as it was sunday
