We left from San Diego, embarkation was fun, we met and visited with people we would be vacationing with. We got onboard quickly and ate right away. Our rooms were spacious and very clean, the beds are SO comfortable, you will sleep like a baby. We spent the first day on the Lido Deck out of the chilly wind. We drank the drink of the day and just enjoyed the beginning of a wonderful vacation. We got spray on tattoos and soaked up the sun. The emergency training was long and dreadful and was the only time I heard any complaining at all during the 5 days we were on The Elation. They herded us like cattle into the lounge then outside, it was cold and cramped, a simple video on the TV in our cabin would have been a preferred and sufficient way to learn what to do in the "unlikely" event of an emergency. The booklet they put in your room each day is full of fun tips to make the most of your vacation and a schedule of planned events for each day. Tear off the section with a schedule and keep it with you so you don't miss any of the entertaining activities, there is ALWAYS something fun happening and you can never keep track of it all without the schedule. The first 3 days were lovely, the food was fantastic, the people were abundantly friendly every second of everyday. The last two days the weather turned bad, the ship rocked and I felt super sick most of the time even though I was wearing a patch. It rained on us in Ensenada and that was a bummer, but we still had a good time. The evening of day 4 I was ready to stay on solid ground and get off the rocking ship, but I would do it all again any day! My advice to anyone planning a cruise is to book as many shore excursions as you can, we didn't so mostly we wondered aimlessly in Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada fighting off vendors. To get the most out of your vacation take advantage of the shore excursions offered, everyone I talked to said it was the best part of their trip. I really feel like I missed out by not booking any excursions. The part I will remember most about the trip was how nice The Carnival employees are! They greet you with a smile and a friendly hello every time they see you. Tina our cruise director was full of positive energy and was having so much fun herself it was contagious. She made it a point to talk to us and make sure everyone was having fun at all times. Our cruise was by far the very best vacation I have ever had. With so many people dedicated to making sure you have a great time it would be impossible not to. It was affordable, entertaining, great food was available at all times, room service was like 10 or 15 minutes, the ship was clean and full of happy fun people. You cant find fun like this ANYWHERE! Especially for the price.

Have FUN we SURE DID! See you next year Carnival. Take some good advice! Just because its summer doesn't mean it's going to be warm. Take a windbreaker or jacket because it was actually COLD! They keep the inside of the ship cold and the weather even though nice on the inner part of the ship, the upper deck was FREEEZING and WINDY! It was June and it actually took my breath away it was so cold at times. If you wear a motion sickness patch. Only wear it for 3 days, take it off and if you have to, take the motion sickness pills available in the infirmary free of cost. I wore the patch the full 5 days and got horribly ill for about 5 days when I took it off. You won't need it the full 5 days, you get used to the motion by the first 3 days anyway so save yourself the uncomfortable "withdrawals" they mention in the side effects of the patch pamphlet. After the first 3 days the patch actually makes you feel sick.

Cabin Review

Cabin M

We were at the back of the ship, the humming of the engines was lovely at bedtime and if there was any hallway noise we sure didnt hear it. Plenty of space for everything. Very nice cabins.
