Sail Date: Aug 2014

We sailed from Seward after our land part of the tour. We recommend if you are taking a Land/Cruise that you do the land first and enjoy the boat on the second half. We did RCI's 5B Land/cruise. First 5 nights at 4 different stops so you're living out of your smaller suitcase. On the boat for 7 nights you can unpack and get used to the bed. We took in Seward, Juneau, Skagway, Icy Straight Point and Kecthikan and arrived in Vancouver as our debarkation point.

BIG HINT: Book your excursions outside of RC. Don't let anyone at RC scare you into booking with them because "they don't guarantee you'll be back in time". Every excursion we booked outside of RC knew of the ship's scheduled arrival time and departure time, so book EARLY. Also Google/Bing Alaska coupons. Many of the excursions up there have discounts. We booked a whale watch in Icy Strait Point for half off the second person, a $67 savings. Additionally, the excursions tend to be less expensive and more plentiful than the offerings via RC.

If you are booking a balcony stateroom BOOK A PORT SIDE CABIN if traveling southbound and a STARBOARD CABIN if cruising Northbound.

Cabin Review

GREAT views and lots of room. Annoying odor in bathroom which seems to be common. They need more outlets. Bring a strip with you if you have a lot of charging items.
