Sail Date: Dec 2013

First let me say I cruised the Destiny her inaugural year. At the time she was the biggest passenger ship on the sea and the most beautiful thing I had laid eyes on. Now redone as the Sunshine, she is still pretty but not as jaw dropping gorgeous as her younger self... but then again who is? And that is what she reminded me of, and older lady that had extensive plastic surgery in an attempt to recapture her youth. But you can't turn back the hands of time, you can only mask it.

With all of that said, she is very pretty, especially areas like the Havana Bar, Ocean Plaza and the 3 story serenity deck with the jaw dropping waterfall. Her color scheme Is very muted inline with today's modern tastes . The hallway that takes you to the various restaurants and comedy club is unique and different too. Definitely thumbs up to the interior design folks on the public areas. I've been on larger ships with public areas not as nice as the Sunshine's.

But with all of new accoutrements, the Sunshine is still and older ship, thus smaller than ships we have become accustomed to today. She larger than the fantasy class ships like the Elation but smaller than the conquest class ships like the Conquest or Valor. Those that sail Carnival frequently will know what that means. For first time cruisers, don't expect huge, take forever to get from one end to the other type of ship. The casino is really tiny compared to the casinos on the conquest class ships. Its split in half with a walkway and very cramped to get to machines on busy nights. They payout on slots were the worst I have seen on any cruiseline.... EVER and the cost to participate in the slot tournaments has gone up. Disappointing.. .

Cabin Review

Cabin inside

Small, perfect for a single person, but a bit cramped for two. Contains two beds, a table and a chair. No sofa and no fridge. Does have flat screen tv. Two closets as the 3 contains the safe and the life jackets, etc.
