We have always been a fan of Carnival and have done over 6 Carnival cruises. One of the things we look most forward to on Carnival is having our own table at dinner and the fun you have by having the same wait staff. We were on a 7 night cruise and I couldn't even tell you our wait staff names or where they were from. They barely took the time to talk to us and rushed us through most dinners. The food on the Sunshine was the worst of any cruise we have ever taken, both by taste and choices available. We couldn't even cut the prime rib let alone eat it. Thank god they had 24 hour pizza! The rooms are very comfortable, but again our room steward never came to introduce herself to us and while she worked very hard always seemed to be too busy to stop to talk to us. The buffet menus and sit down breakfast menu didn't seem to change and the late night menu was hot dogs....something I have never seen before.

We tendered in Grand Cayman and my parents excursions were cancelled AFTER waiting for their tender and waiting at the pier for 30 minutes. No compensation was offered to any of the passengers and because they were notified so late it did not give them time to sign up for anything else. If passengers had cancelled at the last minute they would have lost their money! Carnival could have at least offered a couple free drink coupons!! I think we will be trying a different cruise line next time.

The excursion we did in Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Montego Bay were great. In Cozumel we went to a private house on the beach for the day which offered unlimited drinks/food/snorkel. It was an enjoyable day. When we got back to the ship there was line to get on the ship all the way down the pier. Carnival had one security door open. It took us over an hour to get on the ship. The ship was delayed in leaving, something that should not have happened. Please note my rating below is high for the shore excursions, not for Carnivals part in the shore excursions.
