Sailed out of Tampa over New Years. As a first timer, didn't have anything to compare, so I give it a B+. There were many positives: main dining meals generally good, with great variety, which allowed sampling new things, however some of the "choice" meats were tough and contained gristle; our waiter "Carlos" was first rate; Lido deck food was good, as I didn't have high expectations, with cheesecake desserts wonderful. Entertainment in Normandie theater was ok; we saw three shows, but the seating arrangement in balcony was very poor with many obstructions. Shore excursions were thru Carnival: Cozumel at the beach was the highlight, just what we wanted: relax in the sun, swim, comp drinks and meal. Grand Cayman was not; 4 other cruise ships there, tenders off loaded us to port and once in port staging areas were chaotic, noisy, and hard to find your tour. The stingray experience was poor as we were taken out to a sand bar [1/2 hr journey], with many other small boats and thus couldn't get close enough to get off in knee deep water, as promised. got off over the side on short ladder into deeper water which proved problematic to non-swimmers. Just too many there to enjoy. Dolphin encounter was everything stingray was not, really enjoyable. We took a 'behind the scenes" tour with an excellent guide Nada; highly recommended. Tampa was fogged in and docking 4 1/2 hrs. late. We did self assist baggage handling which is the way to go. Unfortunately missed return flights and experienced the polar vortex snow and cold flight cancellations. Would cruise again with Carnival.

Cabin Review

Overall satisfied. Minor issue: only air adjustment was in ceiling and took a while to find. Didn't interact with cabin steward. It was clean and comfortable.
